He was one of six. He joined the merchant navy when he was 14 with his lifelong friend Bill. When he
left the merchant navy he had many jobs the last being a roofer when he was 47 he fell at work and
lost his sight through the fall. He met Mary and married her in 1951 they had 5 children
Jane,Jim,Edward,Margaret and Christine. He had two guide dogs through out his life Pet and Bodie.He
died of a massive Heart attack in 1993.
